It's rare for anyone to get the time to explore their wellness goals with a trained professional. As an IIN Nutritional Consultant I will create a supportive environment that will enable you to articulate and achieve your wellness goals. Throughout my education, I have been exposed to the most cutting-edge dietary theories and studied highly effective coaching techniques to help you find the right lifestyle that works best for you.
Most approaches to healthy eating dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes during our work together. As these pieces accumulate, my clients find these changes collectively create a much larger impact than they originally anticipated. We work on what they want to improve within the circumstances of their unique situation. Our goal is to set you up for success and shift the way you relate to food.
Mariane has a passion for nutrition after going through her own health struggles with weight, chronic pain, and inflammation. In kindergarten she weighed 100 pounds and from there her weight fluctuated between 200 and 300 pounds. She has tried every diet on the market. Some offered temporary benefits, but never long term sustainability. The real answers to her health and weight management came when she started to eat real, nutrient dense, unprocessed food.
In the one on one coaching sessions we will work on what you want to improve within the circumstances of your unique situation. My goal is to set you up for success and shift the way you relate to food.
The 6 month program includes 2 -50 minute sessions per month. Through one on one coaching you will gain the knowledge and tools to implement lasting change. You will find a safe place to learn new habits to live the life you long to live. The sessions will be tailored to your needs. For example; diet, exercise, sleep, cooking, recipes, grocery shopping, resetting your pantry, and more.
In March 2019 I decided I’d put IT off long enough...feeling better that is. I had sore knees and hips, a stiff back. I was lethargic and cranky. I was feeling old even though I really wasn’t. I had three grandchildren under three and wanted to be able to play with them. I didn’t want to be left behind on walks any longer. I had tried through the years to lose the added weight (from stress eating mostly...lots of sweets, chips, and yummy bread). I hated weight loss groups, counting anything, and paying out money for a program that I couldn’t follow, didn’t understand, and had no connection to my life. I didn’t want to just lose weight, I wanted to feel better. Enter Mariane! I met with her in April just to chat about food and eating and health. An excerpt from her first email “...start crowding out bad food with healthy foods. We need the program to work specifically for you, your needs, and your lifestyle so it will last a lifetime and not be a quick fix.” And that is exactly what happened. She educated, supported, encouraged me to a healthier, happier me. I lost 60 pounds in about 10 months and have kept them off through Christmas and Covid stay-at-home. I stopped taking pain meds! I can walk with the grandkids without slowing them down too much. I feel younger and happier than I have for 20 years. It’s all about smart choices, healthy food, understanding yourself. Mariane will listen to you, your needs, and, without judging you, will offer you what you need to get going to a healthier you. Mariane knows I love bread but not cooking much of anything and that probably will never change. So she sends me recipes for Irish Soda bread and maple scones as well as suggestions for products I can find locally that are healthier than Doritos. She didn’t try to mold me to a program, but molded the program to me. And once I started eliminating sugar and grains, the rest just followed. “Progress not perfection” were the best words she spoke to me. I think with any lifestyle change you have to adapt it to you. I am not an absolutist in anything and so knowing I didn’t have to be was what I needed to hear. I don’t schedule “food rewards” because that doesn’t work for me. What works for me is giving myself the okay to order a scone with my coffee if I want to. And then deciding that maybe this time I don’t want to. That’s progress for me! Yours will be different and that’s what Mariane will help you with. She’s easy to talk with, knowledgeable and passionate but down-to-earth practical.
